]]> It is with deep regret to announce that our beloved mother (Pearl) passed away last Sunday. The reason for this post is this is the lady who in the mid 60’s was asked to source and supply hire ski clothing to a local school. As mum and dad both skied (quite rare in those days) they would have been considered relative ‘experts’ ! In 1969 due to increased demand (by now they were supplying many school parties) mum took over a shop in Millbrook, Southampton from a local butcher and converted it into a ski shop for retail and hire.

All locals thought we (the family) were completely ‘nuts’ and many must have thought it would only last a couple of years at the most. Well,  54 years later we are still here although the business has had to change massively with the times and had to change even further (no hire or clothing) after Covid that ruined so many other ski businesses in the UK.

Mum spent the last 3 years of her life in a wonderful dementia care home in Barton on Sea and all the family would like to thank ALL the staff there for the incredible care they all showed.

PEARL (mum, nanna and great nanna) 1928 – 2023

Please check our opening hours (website or google) . As per last Winter Jeremy and I are doing all the workshop work as well as the shop. We are not too proud to admit that we need to save costs and ensure the best ski servicing is available.

Thanks for looking.

]]> We have some BIG changes in the shop for this coming Winter. As the owner of Snow Togs I have had to take some difficult decisions around stock purchasing and stock levels. We have decided to concentrate on the equipment and servicing side of business. Unfortunately with more and more customers preferring to buy their clothing online we have had to take the decision to drop our clothing ranges and concentrate our buying finances with the skis, boots and selected accessories (helmets, goggles, gloves etc). These are the items that still need specialist advice and/or fitting which our company is so well known for.

I hope you like the new look of the shop and we will be one of only a few shops in the UK with a dedicated ski room with a great choice from all the major brands. We’ve enclosed a ‘sneak preview’ of a couple of ‘nearly finished ‘ displays. There will be 8 of these displays units (we’re calling them chalets ! ).

We all look forward to welcoming back all our many loyal customers. Let’s hope for some great skiing this Winter without restrictions !

Thanks for reading… David

Favourite ski of the day .. probably the new Salomon Stance range.. super lightweight and very responsive. Okay it’s a shortish slope but we did what we could and it was great to get back on skis on snow.

Huge thanks to Hemel slope and Salomon who made us really welcome.
